The Guest Experience: Make Your Wedding One to Remember!

Updated: May 1

As you're planning your wedding, you may be reminiscing on some of the weddings that you’ve attended in the past. There are probably weddings that stand out as some of the best weddings you’ve ever attended, and then there may be weddings that weren’t as memorable (or maybe they were, but not for the right reasons). You may even find yourself drawing inspiration from some of your favorite weddings you’ve attended, for your own wedding. Why? Because you had a great experience as a guest – and you want the same for your guests!

According to The Knot Real Weddings 2024 Vendor Report, 75% of couples said that guest experience is most important when planning a wedding. And that makes a lot of sense too. Your guests are gathered there to celebrate your love story as a couple and to thank them for coming to celebrate with you by giving them a night to remember!

At SKY we know how important the guest experience is. When we work with our clients to plan an event we want to be sure that every single person who walks through our doors has a great experience.

But don’t just take our word for it…

“It’s amazing how they can turn the space into anything your heart desires, our guests are still raving.” -Ryan D

“We had so many guests tell us it was the best wedding they’d ever been to, and well, we tell everyone it was even better than we thought it would be!” -Paula M.

Here’s how we do it…

How SKY Armory Makes Every Guest Experience Exceptional

Each and every wedding that we host here at SKY Armory is unique. That’s because we’re a customizable event venue, so we work with each couple to bring their own unique vision to life. And no two visions are the same! Still, no matter the aesthetic, theme, etc. for the wedding, each one creates an experience that guests rave about.

That’s because we are in the business of hospitality. We want you and your guests to feel as if SKY is home for the day of the event.

Here are some of the special touches SKY adds to elevate that guest experience:

  • Our made-from-scratch approach to food ensures that all guests, no matter their eating preferences or allergies, won’t leave hungry. Our talented culinary team works closely with couples throughout the planning process to tailor a menu for the big day that’s accommodating to each and every guest (and the couple of course).

  • We have a service team dedicated to the exceptional guest experience from the moment they walk in, to the moment they leave.

  • Our vast inventory of decor items allows for the couple’s wedding vision to completely come to life. This creates an aesthetically stunning event that will leave your guests impressed.

  • We have an inventory of furniture available to create a cozy atmosphere where guests can relax and enjoy themselves throughout the reception.

  • We always love offering up and incorporating fun ideas that’ll elevate the party experience. Our creative team uses their vast toolkit of ideas to create unique, interactive experiences. Check out some of our guest experience ideas below.

Ideas for Elevating the Guest Experience

  • Cornhole, Foosball or Other Interactive Games for the Reception: For a summer wedding, bring the cornhole outside! Perks of having a wedding venue with an outdoor patio.

  • Late Night Snack: A passed snack at the end of the night, such as truffle fries, will keep your guests from going hungry after spending all night on the dance floor.

  • Photo Booth: Set up a photo booth with props so your guests can capture silly memories. Trust me; those pictures will be treasured for years!

  • Get Guests Involved: Encourage your guests to be part of the action! Set up a guestbook where they can leave messages and well wishes. You could even have a ‘toast wall’ where people can write down their marriage advice or funny stories.

  • Add a Unique Attraction: Cigar bar, cotton candy cart, wine tasting – there are so many ideas. Add something that reflects you as a couple!

  • Say Thanks: Last but not least, show your appreciation! Take a moment during the reception to thank your guests for being there to share in your special day.

The bottom line is that guest experience matters. And at SKY, we’re committed to making the guest experience as amazing as it could possibly be. We want your guests to still be talking about how great your wedding was on your 25th wedding anniversary!
